Job description
Exciting new opportunities within the HR department at ACS International Schools.
We are looking for an HR Advisor to join the HR team and to be based at ACS Cobham.
To be the lead user and system administrator for the HR Information System (HRIS); support the HRD when reviewing and developing HR policies and processes; collating data and reports for governance
and statutory reporting.
To provide support for employee relations matters that may arise from time to time in the UK.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure that timely management information is generated from the HRIS and circulated for the Leadership Teams against KPIs and the agreed staffing profiles.
Provide information as required by external regulators and agreed stakeholders and play a significant role in maintaining and reporting the Single Central Register to ensure it is accurate and up to date.
Work closely with the HR Administrators, to ensure legally compliant and up-to-date information is held on the HR Information Systems and files and enable them to provide correct information as needed to support accurate analysis of activities and provide information for planning.
Maintain an up-to-date database of external pay and benefits information, including information from the ACS recruitment team, for relevant pay markets in the UK and overseas for academic and other staff to be able to advise on specific pay and benefits queries in a timely manner
Working with the HRD to research and benchmark appropriate markets and make recommendations on annual pay projections and annual awards for Board decisions.
Provide support for the annual pay review process and ad-hoc pay reviews.
Ensure job descriptions are kept up-to-date and that a database of job description information ('ACS establishment data) is maintained so that accurate job descriptions are available to HR and the Leadership Teams for organisation review, salary benchmarking and for the performance appraisal process.
Maintain and update the job evaluation and grading framework in ACS to ensure roles are allocated fairly to grades.
From time to time provide advice and support to ACS managers and staff about applying HR policies, procedures and regulations.
Participate in HR team meetings ensuring School HR issues, needs and solutions are shared across the HR team thus maximising efficiency of operation and cost effectiveness of resources.
Contribute to HR strategy discussions, the annual HR plan, and other organisation strategic initiatives.
Keep up to date with external influences and best practice, impending legislation, policy changes or HR trends.
Undertake project management activities as required.
Personal Qualities:
Sound HR knowledge, skills and experience., in particular HRIS, information and data, ideally using iTrent.
Effective planning, organisational and project management skills coupled with a systematic approach to work.
Able to see the 'bigger picture' but also be capable of high accuracy and detail in tracking, systems and planning.
Able to work autonomously when required.
Credible, professional, quickly able to demonstrate value to team and possess excellent customer service skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Professional Expertise:
Ideally CIPD qualified or equivalent.
Experience of working in HR professional ideally gained in a customer-facing environment.
Good understanding of employment law and proven experience in effectively managing employee relations and policies.
Previous knowledge of job evaluation and pay relativity would be an advantage.
This is a full time, permanent position based at ACS Cobham.
