Job description
Due to our move to Charitable status, I am really pleased to confirm a new and exciting position. We are recruiting for a Financial Assistance Manager to be based at the Cobham campus.
To lead, plan, manage and report on the Financial Assistance Programme across ACS Schools, to recruit and retain financially assisted students in line with agreed forecasts and
budgets.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leading the Financial Assistance Programme Team
Leading the Financial Assistance Programme to ensure it runs effectively and achieves its targets.
Lead and motivate a cross functional team including central education, Finance, Admissions, Marketing and IT, so that the team delivers to time and quality.
Ensure timely and effective communication to build understanding and support from stakeholders across the organization.
Manage the indirect reporting line with the Financial Assistance Admissions Associates in the individual Schools to ensure the effective running of the programme.
Financial Assistance Programme plan
Maintain and develop the well-defined model of bursaries and scholarships with multiple entry years, award types and levels of financial assistance to achieve the targeted financial commitment from ACS to demonstrate public benefit.
To maintain and develop the Financial Assistance Programme to operate effectively, including policies and procedures and financial commitment.
Maintain and develop the detailed types of financially assisted places and the associated levels of financial support awards.
Maintain and develop the student assessment criteria working with central education, HOS and admissions.
Maintain and develop the student family financial assessment criteria, including third party validation process, working with finance department.
Ensure programme is consistent with and supports ACS vision, values and is consistent with the ACS educational philosophy.
Ensure programme stays aligned to ACS charitable aims and is compliant with regulations.
Ensure programme enables effective and timely decision making for staff operating the programme at scale.
Ensure the programme delivers a high-quality customer service experience for prospective families and students
Management information and forecasting
Develop and provide accurate enrolment budget forecasts and plan for ramp up to maturity.
Programme leadership and delivery
Financial analysis, forecasting and budget preparation and monitoring
Reporting of the programmes to Advancement Director, SLT, Board & external agencies
Evaluating bursary applications for financial need
Initial evaluation
Liaising with BAL to arrange home visits & financial reports
Processing BAL reports for Sign Off Committee
Manage Hardship Bursary requests from existing parents, evaluate financial information and make recommendations to the Sign Off Committee
Liaising with finance regarding fee billing and award costs for existing students
Preparing and monitoring the Financial Assistance Programme Budget both in awards and administration of awards
Monitor and maintain statistics on enquiries, applications and awards including current and future financial commitment
Working with Advancement and Deans of Admission to obtain traction with lead generation and building stronger links with state & independent feeder schools
Reporting on the Public Benefit aspects of the programmes
Managing the award associates at each school
Manage the co-ordination with the other stakeholders involved in the award programme, such as central education and HoS & Principals
Manage the ongoing expansion of the Financial Assistance Programme, including: -
Doha
Links with feeder schools
Alumni awards
PSO support
Summer Schools
Looked after Children
Qualifications:
Degree level required
Financial qualification
Experience:
Experienced Bursar or Business Manager, with direct experience of running financial assistance programmes.
Commercial, highly numerate with ability to model and forecast.
Experience of applying assessment and admissions policies, processes and procedures to deliver high levels of customer service.
Team management.
Budget management.
Reporting and presenting to senior leadership.
