Job description
We are looking for an experienced High School Counsellor to join the team at ACS Hillingdon International School.
This position involves university/college counselling, careers education and some social/emotional counselling. To work collaboratively in the High School supporting and guiding students transitioning from High School to Higher Education
and taking a major role and responsibility for University/College Counselling and related careers education and guidance.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Ideal candidate will have previous College Guidance Counselling experience; strong knowledge of UK, US and other colleges, universities and admissions protocols; an established network of admissions colleagues
Educated to BA essential
Experience working in High School College Counselling essential
Experience in Teaching preferred
Strong IT skills essential and knowledge of Bridge U or Naviance, preferred
Commitment to excellence in education
Understanding of and commitment to the Mission, Aims and Values of ACS International Schools
A high degree of emotional intelligence, allied with outstanding interpersonal skills
A collaborative approach to team working
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Commitment to nurturing student leadership and responsibility
A reflective and analytical thinker
An entrepreneurial problem-solver
Positive personality, with the ability to judge the appropriate balance of support and challenge that
individual young people need in order to thrive
Experience of integrating technology to improve teaching and learning
