1st Line Technical Support
Job description
We currently have an opportunity for a 1st Line Technical Support Engineer at our Egham campus. The purpose of the role is to act as the first point of contact for all service requests for 1st line technical support to end users, aiding teaching and learning and supporting core objectives.
Key Duties:
* Attend to any IT Service Requests that will arrive via
the
ACS Service Desk System, email, telephone and special requests
* Provide technical support to users through training, answering queries, solving problems and documenting procedures
* Be a visible presence within all divisions of the campus and operational functions whilst exhibiting impeccable customer service skills and attention to detail
* Meticulously log incidents using the ACS Service Desk System maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely updates and follow-ups as per the ACS Incident Management Process
Experience & Qualifications:
Apple or Microsoft Certifications are desirable as is the demonstrable experience using the technology within a similar role within the educational sector
* Excellent understanding of desktop technology and peripherals
* Broad understanding of methods and problems of networking server and systems administration
* Basic to moderate ability in at least one scripting language
* Experience with mixed Apple MAC and Windows based environments is essential
